About LED Lights
The first LED light that was practically used was in 1962, by Nick Holonyak from General Electric Company. After years of trial and error, LED lights became available for the commercial market in the late years of the 60’s. Initially they served as replacements for incandescent indicators and in seven-segment displays. LED lights were considered an expensive method of lighting and were used predominately in laboratories and electronics testing equipment. As technology moved swiftly, so did its function. LED lights moved into commercial use such as TVs, radios, telephones, calculators, watches and more. As the years went on, the colours became brighter, the output increased and in time, LED lights became what they are today!
